What have we discovered / been reminded of this Winter?

New Zealand

1. Vettori is still a top quality Test Match player and a shrewd captain, much like his predecessor.  The team rely on his batting almost as much as his bowling.
2. Matthew Bell is rubbish.
3. New Zealand are still patronised by the rest of the Cricketing world - including England (even when we’re one nil down in a three match series!)
4. They filmed some silly trilogy about dwarves with swords there or something like that

England

1. The Ashes winning team of 2005 needed to be broken up.  Forget it.  That was then.  The culling of Hoggard and Harmison was Moores’ best move since Sidebottom’s recall - even if both end up back in the England side sooner or later (as Hoggard, at least, surely will.)
2. Ryan Sidebootom is God
3. Our batting line-up needs some attention
4. There’s a lot of work to do before 2009
5. It’s nice to win
