This series is provoking people. Take a glance at the comments sent in to the BBC OBO. Rob Key for captain, says one. England in crisis, say I. If one person wants Rob Key as England Captain, the daily threat of earthquake peril in Southern California I live with is a trifle. [Read more →]

Andre Nel

Andre Nel is not funny. Using weak 1960’s “surreal” “humour” was maligned even by 12 year olds in 1988, ie this sites editors. I do not know quite the state of the South African comedy scene. Lynching Mozambiqueans does not have me rolling in the aisles. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing. [Read more →]

Package dropped

Steve Harmison has been left out of the starting XI. I am disappointed. I am an optimist who sees Harmy braining the whole of the South African team. I guess Collingwood is the favoured Geordie. [Read more →]

India hammered by Sri Lanka
July 28th, 2008 · No Comments
Wow. An innings and 239 runs. This is the kind of beating we expect England to dish out to the Aussies next summer. It is rumoured that the “statistal anomalies regarding umpiring decisions” that happened down under will not be occuring in a part of the world where honour does not mean heterosexual intercourse. England selectors sober up
July 27th, 2008 · 6 Comments
England announced their squad for the 3rd Test against South Africa yesterday. There were no new caps, no roof-tilers and no Australians. Darren Pattinson was replaced by Steve Harmison (who would have thought of doing that? That’s why these people are in charge of selection. They’ve picked an experienced returning-to-form (we hope) strike bowler instead of an inexperienced 29 year old Aussie. Leftfield!) whilst his Durham team-mate Paul Collingwoood also makes the twelve. [Read more →]

Contemplating the England batting order

Much as I have admired KP’s godless brilliance this summer, I must later take you through a dream I had about his wife. Later, later.

Dick Injured

Steyn had broke his finger. It seems the hard man of South Africa won’t be playing in the 3rd test. It’s the Ashes 2005 all over again. [Read more →]

Astonishing
July 4th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Here follows a quote from the BBC website from a complete dickhead:
Khan also told BBC Radio 5 Live he resented claims that his side refused to come out and play, adding they were merely delaying their decision to return to the field after being accused of ball tampering.
He said: “I do resent the comments that we refused to go out to play. We delayed coming out to play and informed the English Cricket Board (ECB) and referee three times that we were ready to return to the field.”

England win series 2-0
June 11th, 2008 · 1 Comment
England enjoyed their second consecutive series win against New Zealand after victory at Trent Bridge. The Amazing Ryan Sidebottom took six wickets in the Kiwis’ second innings to give England a 2-0 win in this ‘home leg’. Apparently our next Test Match isn’t against New Zealand; who can remember when that was last the case? Meanwhile we’ve got a Twenty20 and a (no doubt interminable) ODI series against Them What Wears Black Caps. [Read more →]

Egland v NZ; 3rd Test, 3rd Day.
June 7th, 2008 · 6 Comments
What happens when the DVLA are located in Wales? They write Egland as your country of birth. Unless you are from Wales, I suppose. Even with a post-it note with the correct spelling of this fine land, you get Egland. This is forgiven in exchange for Simon Jones. Or is it? With England’s current seam attack, day 3 was all about England (including poor weather).
