Pie Chucker apologises to New Zealand fans everywhere. As soon as we said England would probably lose this 2nd Test the writing was on the wall for the Black Caps. In light of this, we’d like to congratulate Australia on their 2009 five nil Ashes whitewash…Day 4 saw England start off with just one wicket down and a further 218 runs needed for Victory (pursuing 294 in total); a reasonable position on paper perhaps but with the English propensity for batting collapses and a venue that had never seen more than 243 chased down in the 4th innings of a Test, the balance of play - we felt - favoured New Zealand. We hadn’t reckoned with the stubborness of Strauss and the appalling display of the Kiwis who made a gift of the momentum to England with some overthrows and poor bowling. Even when offered a way back into the match following the dismissal of Strauss (for 106, his 2nd ton in 3 Tests) and the run out of KP, New Zealand still seemed resigned to defeat. It soon came to pass.
Special mention to Monty who took 6-37 in the Kiwis second innings and won man of the match. A Monty mask can be downloaded here. If you like that sort of thing. We don’t really approve but we’re trying to appear open minded. If you’re the sort of freak that wants a Monty mask, we’ll gladly provide a link. We is The Bestest.

A great fightback. Are we good or New Zealand poor? Or did we just we get lucky.

Neither. NZ are undoubtedly less than poor. We were not lucky, if we were that Flynn would have choked on his teeth.
