England had another tough day in Sri Lanka as they watched their hosts pile up a 197 run lead.  Vaughan and Cook saw England through to the bad light that brought the close of play with England still 149 runs behind.  The 5th day will be another test of England’s resolve & they must avoid defeat to keep the three match series alive.

In theory batting all day on a slow, even paced & slow-turning wicket shouldn’t be too hard.  Sri Lanka’s middle and lower order have not have much difficulty keeping England’s relatively toothless attack at bay.  Reality might tell a different story though & England’s fans may be praying on a last wicket partnership and some inclement weather.  It’s just like the good old days.
