Dear Gamblers
Welcome to the first instalment of Reggie’s Bets. I must start with a negative and say that the bookies are not taking further bets of Ricky Ponting soiling himself on Christmas Day after several ‘backed heavily’ at 1/100000000.
Each month I shall suggest how to ‘throw £20 down the toilet’. Feel free to follow that route. So getting down to business:
England to draw the series against Sri Lanka. I go with this at 14/5 with bet CHRONICLE as England are better at cricket that Sri Lanka. However they are away from home. A subtle balance. £10
Take Blue Square’s 5/6 on Chelsea winning no silverwear this season. Go on, it feels right. £6
Sky Bet have 9/4 on Wolves v Bristol City being a draw. It’s what a £4 note was made for.
So £20 becomes £62. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Hullo
I spoke to Mrs Ponting on Christmas Day, well it was Christmas eve in Norwich, and she said that although Ricky had not currently soiled himself, he had missed the pan on 4 occasions, which she had had to clean up.
This was at 9.55pm in Sydney. 8.35 in Melbourne. I have since tried to get through to find out if he managed a whole day without crapping his pants, but, having left several answerphone messages, Mrs P has not replied.
Is it possible that Ricky survived those final, agonising few hours and - for the first time in his 30 odd years went to bed without filling his ’strides’?
Possibly a big upset here.
