Racism, Australia, Pakistan and the ICC

Even though the case is somewhat closed I feel it necessary to share my wisdom on the (one of many) incident where the Australians demonstrated that they had no respect for the rules of cricket. We need to look at Ricky Panting. He claimed that he had reported that one of his team had been called a Monkey (AKA Australian), as this was the guidance of the game’s governing body, the International Cricket Council. Ok Ricky, well you obviously have respect for guidance.

Okay, that seems correct if we look at doing the right thing, without the complicated issue of making a judgement call. Indeed if we look at the concept of racism critically, almost no-one understands what it is (ever heard racist expressions such as ‘black culture’, the culture that has nothing to do with being in a specific racial group?), so what chance for a genius like Richard Ian Neil Michael Yates Harold Owen Lee Edward Panting. A man who blames massage for his own inability to run quickly enough to not get run out, I can have sympathy for. Ahem. So, what is the concern? Well Brad Hogg was reported by Anil Kumble for making offensive remarks. We don’t like offensive remarks, do we?  Neither do the ICC, they take this seriously. Hang on when Kumble and Panting have a chat they agree to not worry about it. F*ck it, hey, I make my living doing this lark but sod the rules. How could the ICC accept this? Such things cannot be withdrawn because two cricketers decide it to be so. So thanks again ICC, nice to know you don’t care about doing the right thing. I am still waiting for my refund for when the Pakistani cricket team decided to rob the general public of their money when they were big babies who didn’t like the umpires decision. At least the Aussies stay on the field.

Oof. It’s a rant. I think that Richard Ian Neil Michael Yates Harold Owen Lee Edward Panting is my hero.
